Researches have shown that the dust on the screen of television and computer is the most poisonous and dangerous one! Researchers believe that the dust on the monitors, because of having chemical materials, can create reproductive disorders and mental diseases which are really dangerous. It is suggested to avoid touching the screens of televisions and computers and clean them everyday with a wet handkerchief especially the monitor of the computer due to being closer to it.

Never Complain! You Are Already in Your Best Place!

Once, there was a poor stone breaker who worked very hard to manage his life. One day, as he was breaking the stones near the road, he said to himself: “ ah, if I had been rich, I could have rested .” An angel was wandering in the sky and heard his wish and said to him: “ I will grant your wish!” Suddenly the poor stone breaker found himself in a magnificent palace with lots of servants. He could have rested as mush as he wanted.

But one day as he was staring at the sun, he sighed and wished to be the sun in order to get rid of all his servants!!! This time, again, the angel granted his wish to make him happy. But when he became the sun, a cloud passed before him and made his brightness dim and dark. He thought: “ I wish I were a cloud because the cloud is stronger than the sun!” This wish also was granted and the wind blew and dispersed the cloud in the sky. “ I wish to be the wind that brings everything with itself,” he said. The angel kindly changed him into the bald and violent wind, but it hit the mountain which was strong against the wind and did not move! As he became the mountain, according to his new wish, he noticed that a person was breaking his foot with the hammer. He said, “ I wish I were a person breaking the strong mountains!!!”

The angel granted his wish for the last time. The poor stone breaker found himself near the road and he never complained again!!!

Essay: The Azeri Custom of Naming a Newborn Baby

Azeri people have a lot of customs and if one wants to mention all of them, probably a book may be written! Thus, it is somehow difficult to choose one of these traditions as my favorite. But the custom of "naming a newborn baby" is my preferred because of not only the interesting ceremonies that Azeri people hold, but also the sweetness of a baby him/herself.



This tradition is held when the baby is seven-days old. The members of the family and invited people come together in the evening. First, seven of the oldest people sit on the ground, side by side, from youngest to the eldest, and the baby is passed on from the seventh person (youngest) to the first one (the oldest). The last person says the izan (call to prayer in Arabic words) to the baby and then calls the baby's name, chosen in advance, near his/her ear. From this moment, the baby is called by his/her name. Second, the mother of the child lights two candles which are kept from her wedding ceremony to be lit in such a day. This action symbolizes the firmness of the marriage. Then, the baby's eyebrows are made up heavily representing beauty and good fortune for the baby. After passing these phases, it is time to dance, rejoice, and eat dinner. As the last part of this custom, the gifts, brought by the guests to the baby, are opened with singing a special Azeri poem. People gradually say goodbye to the baby and the parents, wishing them the best.

Essay: The Adventurous Repair of the Television

It was afternoon, strangely still and silent as if the world had come to its end for me as a six-year-old girl. Our television broke down and I had missed all the cartoons shown in the morning. I could not even think about missing them again in the evening. I squatted near the TV and stared at the screen regretfully. I could only see the reflection of my sparkling eyes flickering like little dim stars in the dark depth of the sky. I started making faces at the screen in the hope of receiving a response, but they were useless. I got completely disappointed in convincing the telly to work. I had to do something, so I tried to use the gray cells of my little brain and consequently I decided to repair the TV by myself (certainly I had overused my gray cells)!

At the beginning, I looked around carefully. I found my dad snoring and my mom working in the kitchen. I took a deep breath and engaged in repairing the television just like an expert. First, I pressed all the buttons of the TV one after the other; nothing happened. Then I started punching and kicking with all my strength at the poor telly; there was no difference. Finally I decided to check out the wires behind the TV set. I bent and strongly pulled one of the wires and then I was just streaming from the end of my lungs!!! The television set had fallen down; because, one of the cracked wheels of its table broke due to pulling the wire. I had been mashed like a potato and the drips of blood were streaming down my face! My mom and dad worriedly rushed to see what happened. As soon as they arrived, I stopped screaming and crying!!! Being under television, I was carefully listening to the sound of my favorite cartoon "Tom and Jerry." I just wanted to get rid of the TV on my head and watch my masterpiece even with the broken head that was similar to Tom's after being beaten by Jerry's pan!

Some psychologists believe that the favorite color of a person can indicate his/her characteristics. Let's check it out!

Red: Good-hearted but selfish. This color is the symbol of severity and extravagance. Red is the color of love, hatred, sacrifice, violence, blood and fire (antitheses!). Who likes this color can not be an indifferent person in his/her life.
These people are stubborn and hasty but courageous. The possibility of being disappointed in love is so high for a person who loves red color. Sudden rash judgments about the other people sometimes cause problems in relationship with the friends. Although these people are faithful to their loves, if one day is not pleasant, they will harshly react without thinking or discovering the reason.
Tow big defects –selfishness and lack of controlling- are in the inside of a person favoring red color and two good characteristics are kind-heartedness and self-confidence. Totally, this person has antithetical traits.

Pink : ( Pink is my favorite as you can see on my blog!) Indeed, pink is the pale red. If you like this color, you have all the characteristics of the red color in the mild way. You are forgiving and calm in love. You understand people very well and treat with them gently. Because of your fresh and happy character, the others love you very much. Most of the time, you tolerate bitterness, failure, and misfortune of life but you never give up on the problems.

Blue: Order, perseverance, and loneliness. There are many people who are in favor of this color. If you are one of them, you can easily control your feelings and excitement. Your calm appearance makes the other people respect you and you appreciate this respect. You are frugal and due to your shyness or your pride, you want to be alone. The folly of the people make you feel boring and at the same time you get annoyed by a person who is wiser than you.

Purple: This color is mysterious and magnificent. If you like it, you are always attracted by beauties and you are pride and social. You generally spend your time with spiritual things. This color is the favorite color of mystics.

Brown: Reliable and strong. You love poetry and philosophy. You scarcely change your mind and when you decide to do something, you never give up. You are really reliable to keep the secrets. You like to be alone and sometimes treat badly with the people. In love, you are not strict and pessimist.

Gray: This color is the symbol of the abandonment of the world's pleasures. You feel satisfied in your life and you don't need anything. This color belongs to the wise. You prefer to have an older partner because you want to be with a superior person to learn more from him/her.

Orange: Always honest, never capricious. You have the lack of confidence but you are social and kind. You treat with the other people kindly. It is somehow difficult to create relationship with you. You are faithful and honest in love. If you get married with a person the same as yourself, you will be the greatest couple.

Turquoise-colored: You are mysterious and sentimental. You manage your duties very well. You are strong and hard-working. You don't care about the advice of the others. This color is usually the favorite color of women.

Green: Curiosity. The green color is the color of freshness and nature. Your life is easy and you have some shared characteristics of the orange color's traits. Your relationship with the other people is based on some rules. You do not like to experience sudden and unusual events in your life, but you pay attention curiously to the other people's unusual events in their lives.

Black: This color is not the color of disappointment and lamentation. It is the symbol of having good taste and talent. You respect people and you do your best to help them generously. You accept the right and correct opinions of the other people and you never force your ideas to be accepted.

One colorful point: Your favorite color will change during your life, because your characteristics also change in different phases of life. But if you suddenly change your mind about a color, this is due to your weakness or your need to change the milieu of your life.
